Shorad Hwo

The Shorad Hwo (Metzi:쏘랃훠) are an ethnic group residing on the easternmost islands of the Metzettan archipelago. They have occupied their islands since antiquity but were slowly assimilated and colonised by the Metzettans. They have their own language, culture and religion though to certain extents these have been suppressed by the Metzettan government at various points in history.

History

The Shorad Hwo descended from mainland Metzettans and formed a civilisation based on farming, hunting, gathering and fishing. They were in active contact with the mainlanders and maintained a friendly relationship with the kingdom of Daekang. Eventually they found themselves left behind and were asked to pay tribute to the mainland in return for protection from outside invaders. In time this tributary era gave way to full-blown annexation by the Emperor. The Shorad people found themselves marginalised and often performed menial tasks and hard labour, they were sent in large numbers to Jinju to build the Empire's new infrastructure there. During GW2 a special unit formed of Shorad Hwo served in the Metzettan Navy.
