Covina and Nahe reached a peace accord after fighting in the Irkumas War in response to the atomic bombing in Zakan Rot. The Assembly of Nahe later voted unanimously, 150-0, to grant Premier August Wittke full wartime powers until the complete capitulation of Varshan, with the Senate voting unanimously, 27-0, as well. With this Nahe declared war on Varshan.
