It remained under [[Oduniyyad Caliphate|Oduniyyad]] control until the fall of that empire in [[1514]] when it was left to its own devices until the [[Truffle Races]] between the coastal states of the [[Kingdom of Dericania]] ([[Burgundie]]) and [[Caphiria]] led to its annexation by [[Burgoignesc Kandahar-Kandara Trading Company|Company for the Aid of the Protestants Refugees]] in [[1577]]. It was administered as part of the [[Barbary Straits Colony]] from [[1577]]-[[1836]] when the mainland was lost, then given provincial status in [[1875]] when the unified nation of [[Burgundie]] was formed.
