Arcadia was lightly colonized by the Duchy of martial's in the late 16th century until the mid 18th century as a whaling station and later as a penguin and ice factory. It was never a fully fledged colony and as never self-sufficient but it's revenue was important to the Duchy and the ice gave the Metropole as taste of refinement.
