The Party of Varshan Democrats is a centre-right big tent political party in the Democratic Republic of Corumm. Founded in 1957 by Dai Hanjian, it ruled the country uninterrupted from 1957 to 1992 and presided over a dominant party system. Established after Dai Hanjian's 'Glorious Revolt' that toppled monarchical rule, it provided him and the military rulers after him with a wafer-thin veneer of democratic legitimacy. Upon its 1992 defeat the party was banned for five years before being reactivated as a satellite party of the Party of Corummese Democrats.
