The Atomic bombing of Cavosia was the detonation of an atomic bomb in the city of Cavosia in Urlazio by the Imperial Aerial Defense Force of Caphiria during the Second Great War. The bombing killed more than 85,000 people, about half of whom were civilians. The bombing was the first use of an atomic bomb in warfare and the second-ever detonation of a nuclear device.

During the final year of the Second Great War, the conflict was not going well for Caphiria. Facing severe setbacks on the ground in the southern, Pelaxian, and Acirian fronts, and with Urlazio largely lost to Urcea, an invasion of the Caphirian core region and attack on Venceia no longer appeared improbable. After the Battle of the Adonáire Strait and beginning of active Urcean military presence in Sarpedon, Caphiria had begun to commit increasingly significant resources to super weapons including the atomic bomb. While military leaders had hoped to use the weapons massed in tactical uses across multiple fronts, by 1943 only one device was ready for use. It was hoped that the shock value of one detonation would cause the allies to sue for peace, preserving the Caphirian state.

On 12 April, Caphiria issued an ultimatum demanding Urcea withdraw its forces from Urlazio and detatch from allied forces throughout the rest of Sarpedon, a request that was denied. Caphiria marshaled most of its remaining air forces to temporarily reestablish air supremacy over southern Urlazio by 15 April, creating a window for the bomb to be dropped. The target, largely military in nature but with significant civilian presence as well, was the city of Cavosia, an important rail hub and supply depot. at 8:12 in the morning on 17 April, the device detonated, creating widespread destruction.

The bombing was the last major military action in Sarpedon. Levantia and Odoneru Treaty Association forces agreed to a ceasefire that began negotiations for the Treaty of Kartika which would end the war.
