Brands and operations
Alvo
Alvo is a grocery-only subsidiary of Bellegarde that is typically found in places like university campuses, where space is limited. It began as a discount grocer, but in 2010, Bellegarde standardized most of its prices between Alvo, Bellegarde, Bellegarde Est, and Esquerda, and thus Alvo lost its title of discount grocer. Nonetheless, Alvo is still popular with many health-oriented individuals as it tends to place a heavier emphasis on local produce.
Bellegarde Est
Bellegarde Est is the variation of Bellegarde that serves the Caphirian provinces of Caenna, Cesindes, Iscasta, Luria, Netharra, Ovalutia, and Salbis. It operates on much the same principle as the other brands under Bellegarde's umbrella, but has a unique feature where on certain days (typically Saturdays), the store will showcase and sample a dish from a random province across the imperium to customers. The theory behind this is that it expands the palate of Caphirians living in east Urlazio and creates a more memorable experience for shoppers in the store. A similar feature is being piloted in standard Bellegarde stores in Milan.
Bourseiller
Bourseiller is a gourmet grocery store chain subsidiary of Bellegarde that is based in Esserie. Most locations also have a full-service kitchen, offer cooking and wine classes in their culinary school, and offer catering services. Bourseiller deliberately limits floor space allocated to packaged products, allowing more space for fresh produce, meat and seafood, bulk products, and chef-prepared items. The idea behind this is to create a more organic and The chain has twenty-six locations (twenty-two in Milan and four in Luria).
Esquerda
Esquerda is a marque of Bellegarde that is specific to western Alexandria. Its model is based on self-checkout (although normal registers and cashiers are found in the stores) and convenience, where customers can use produce scales that allow them to print bar codes for food, ready-to-eat sections at the front of the stores, as well as a modified layout that places most purchased items up front and least at the rear. Because of Bellegarde's adoption of many of these services across its brands, it has considered converting Esquerda into Bellegarde stores.
