Saint Exuperius University is a Catholic private research university based in Trispen, Eusa. It is the oldest university in the Kiravian overseas island state, and the second-largest by enrollment after the public Eusa State University. Established in 1506 by Rónan Sinatra, Bishop of Trispen, as a central seminary for the formation of diocesan priests to serve the island's parishes, the school was expanded into a full-fledged university admitting laymen in 1639.
Academics
Saint Exuperius offers courses in 96 fields of study toward °1 and °1½ qualifications, and 25 °2 and °3 qualification programmes. Seminary students graduate with the combined °1×2 qualification considered standard for Kiravian clergy.
The Institute for Insular Affairs Scholarship is a special research unit associated with the university's Faculty of Nissology that conducts high-level research into the economic, social, public policy, and cultural dimensions of insularity and island life. It also issues 4° qualifications to scholars working in these areas. It publishes the Journal of the New Nissology through the St. Exuperius University Press.
Athletics
St. Exuperius' athletics teams are known as the Fightin' Scallops. They compete in the Eusan Collegiate Athletic League with all of the other sizeable colleges on the island. Consistently a top contender within the league in such major team sports as football and hockey, their chief rival are the Eusa State Hermit Crabs.
