The Tierrador Air Force (Qabóri: ᑎᖍᑫᐟ ᐊᐅᑲᐢᑐᐟ) is the main air service branch of the Tierradorian Defense Forces (TDF). It is one of the three main Forces, the other two being the Tierrador Army and Tierrador Navy, along with being a key service for the country's projection of air superiority. Split from the Qabóri Naval & Air Guard in 1930, the Tierrador Air Force's initial primary objectives were to maintain air security and superiority during the Second Great War, as the neutral power feared a surprise attack from both Kuronia and the Cape. Since then, the Air Force had seen consistently sharp increases in its budget, and while it has the least amount of total enlisted personnel of the three main branches, it is considered one of the more prestigious service branches, second only to the Tierrador Navy.
About 34% of the TDF's budget is directed towards the Air Force. Due to this, the TAF is able to man a little over 2100 total aircraft, with the majority of that number being its impressive fleet of about 1350 fourth-generation fighters, mainly provided by Aquila Solutions. The stated mission of the Tierrador Air Force is "to provide an Air Force that is agile, adaptive, and fully capable of maintaining air superiority and security over Mainland and Overseas Tierrador, along with Tierrador's allies and vassals, while making decisive air power contributions in support of the defense missions of the Unified Tierradorian Defense Forces." The Tierrador Air Force is very adamant in its ambitions for power projection and superiority through air missions and aerospace defense.
The Tierrador Air Force features a total budget of $287.3 billion, and it maintains a fully operational and modern fleet of various different aircraft types, with the majority of these aircraft being produced within the borders of Tierrador. As of 2038, the Air Force's fixed-wing aircraft numbers include 1,355 fighter aircraft, 225 manned attack aircraft, 147 bomber aircraft, 95 airborne early warning and control aircraft, 125 unmanned attack aircraft, 105 transport aircraft, 54 refueling aircraft, along with 60 rotary-wing helicopters. Most of the Tierrador Air Force's aircraft and personnel are based in Mainland Tierrador, with international operations in Ceylonia, Porlos, and, more recently, Almadaria. The Air Force also stations personnel and aircraft in Tierradorian overseas holdings of Teschego and the Saukhin Islands.
History
Structure
Leadership
Because overall operations of the TDF, including the Air Force, are administrated by the Homeland Security Office, the Homeland Security Officer is the de facto highest ranking official of the Tierrador Air Force. Though the same can be said about the commander-in-chief, Woqali Mokhar III. The highest ranking official of the Tierrador Air Force is the Aokasmakosi, or in Ænglish, the Air Marshal. Currently, the Aokasmakosi rank is held by Yato Kolasari. Kolasari reports to the TDF's Chief of General Staff, currently General William Qançe. The Aokasmakosi also serves as the main chair of the Air Defense Board, the sub-agency under the Homeland Security Office that is responsible for aerospace defense in Mainland and Overseas Tierrador.
