Coat of arms of Cartadania.

The flag of the Federative Republic of Cartadania represents Cartadania and, together with the coat of arms and the national anthem, has the status of a national symbol. The meaning of the colors on the flag has changed over time, and the layout is generally more aligned with having a geographical meaning in that the green quarters represent mainland and Urlazian Cartadania, the blue represents the bodies of water between them, and the white cross represents Cartadania's position at the crossroads of the world. The flag was designed by Rafael Cedillo.

Description

One of the longest-standing national flags in history, the meaning of the colors on the flag has changed over time, and the layout is generally more aligned with having a geographical meaning in that the green quarters represent the land of Cartadania, the blue represents the bodies of water between them, and the white cross represents Cartadania's position at the crossroads of the world.

The basic design of the current flag of Cartadania with the coat of arms is specified by a 1710 Federal law that states the following: The coat of arms of Cartadania has a height equal to 1⁄5 of the hoist (height) and will figure on both sides of the flag. When the flag is of regular proportions, having a length equal to 3⁄2 of the width, the coat's axis is placed at the flag's center point, in the median of the cross.

Other flags

Cartadania has various state and local flags displayed throughout the country. Internally, people often associate with their state flags more than the federal flag, giving many Cartadanians various identities to associate themselves with (e.g., Cartadania, Milanais, Auvergnate, and Charentais for someone from Auvergne), though the trends are not consistent in preference.
