The Iyagi-Seda is the oldest extant book of classical Metzettan history, published in 740 BC. It begins with the Metzettan creation myth (Chulcheo) explaining the origin of the world. It goes on to recount several lesser myths and includes an extensive genealogy of the Metzettan Imperial Family. It describes episodes from Metzettan history and diplomatic contacts with other countries. Some obscure early Emperors are known only from the Iyagi-seda.

"Iyagi-seda" has been variously translated into English as "Fierce History" and "Origin of Power/Strength." Modern translations are usually released under the native name.

The writing of the Iyagi-seda began under Empress Kukki, and was completed under her successor Emperor Gwe.
