Hufanga was previously a submarine captain in the Kiravian Navy.
Hufanga was elected Governor of his home state in 2030 AD, running on a platform of job creation, reduction of the tax burden, and a tough line against public waste and corruption. His campaign was given a shot in the arm by revelations of public-sector union corruption involving elected officials from the opposing Ngatra United prty and their family members.
In 2033 AD, Hufanga defeated Ngatra United Party (CSU) challenger Talanoa Tuipulotuv, winning reëlection to a second term.
