To make it 1:1 analogue latitude lines would be 46.667px and longitude lines would be 23.33px?

Beta Latitude and Longitude

Because our world is so much bigger than earth, to measure more precisely we need to fudge the numbers of longitude and latitude lines to make it all make sense. For the sake of being able to do a general geographic coordinate system style reference lets assume 1 minute of longitude and latitude equals 10 miles. That means in this world we would have 350 lines of latitude north and 350 lines of latitude south of the equator and 700 lines of longitude west and 700 lines east of the Prime Meridian. A far cry from the 90 degrees north and south and 180 degrees east and west IRL but since most of us aren't geographers its not much of a stretch to learn this new system.

How to find geographic coordinates each declining unit of measure is the previous number divided by 60. 1 degree of latitude/longitude is 6px, or 60mi (96.56km).

  • 1 minute of latitude/longitude is 1px, 10mi (16.09km)
    • 1 second of latitude/longitude is .16px, 1.6mi (2.57km)

Example

To determine the geographic coordinates of Burgundie's capital system I would open the Raw map in a program that tells me which pixels you are pointing to. I use paint.net because its free, but Photoshop and other programs are just fine.

I find that the area for the capital is in pixels 5287, 1606. That's 5,287 pixels from the left of the image and 1,606 pixels from the top. The Prime Meridian is in the middle of the map width-wise at 4300 pixels from the left. Because my number is GREATER than 4300 the capital is in the eastern hemisphere. The Equator is in the middle of the map height-wise at 2100 pixels from the top. Because my number is LESS than 2100 the capital is in the northern hemisphere. To find the capitals longitude I take my number 5287, and I subtract the Prime Meridian (add if you are in the western hemisphere) to get 1087px. I now need to convert this into a the geographic coordinate system style.

If 1 degree of longitude is 6px, I will divide 1087 by 6? to get my degree of longitude, 181.1667. This means the city is positioned at
