The Department of Health and Human Services (Cartadanian: Departamento de Saúde e Serviços Humanos; DHHS or DSSH) is an executive department of the federal government of Cartadania, tasked with overseeing the nation’s public health, healthcare, and social services. The department is headed by the Secretary of Humanity, a cabinet-level official, currently Mariana Andrade. With a 2030 budget equivalent to 21.58% of Cartadania’s planned federal budget (approximately 6.71% of the country’s GDP, or $1.915 trillion), DHHS is the largest federal department in terms of funding and scope, and as well as one of its most influential.

DHHS plays a critical role in safeguarding the health and well-being of Cartadania’s population. Its programs and initiatives aim to improve healthcare quality, control public health risks, support vulnerable populations, and ensure access to essential services across the country. The department’s broad mandate and budget stress the priority placed on health and social services within the national policy framework. Through its extensive network of divisions and partnerships with state and local governments, DHHS addresses both immediate health concerns and long-term public welfare goals. The department’s activities also encompass advancing medical research, regulating pharmaceuticals and food safety, and responding to health emergencies.
