The incumbent Procurator, Michael Witte of the Commonwealth Union, declined to run for a third term. The National Pact nominee, James Dynan, was elected Procurator.
The election took place within the context of the War of the Northern Confederation, which Procurator Michael Witte had begun and was initially unpopular before a string of victories reversed it as a political weakness.
