Avenika is a Kiravian colonial territory located in northern Punth. It has a southern temperate climate.

History

Avenika was the second Kiravian colony to be estblished in Punth, Porfíria being the first. The first Kiravian settlement was built early in 21205 at Parera by a group of 700 colonists contracted by the Colonial Authority.

Not long after the colony was established, the Ixnay Economic Crash struck Kiravia, resulting in massive unemployment, as well as widespread disillusionment with advanced liberal capitalism. A nationwide distributist, back-to-the land social movement called "Authentic Living" advocating rural smallholding, agrarianism, decentralism, coōperative economics, anti-consumerism, Coscivian traditions, and a revival of religion in daily life spread quickly across Upper Kirav and soon took hold in the country's major metropolitan areas. The Authentic Living movement played a major role in electing the distributist Caritist Social Union and Cadre of Right into power in the 21206 federal election. As part of the new government's economic recovery plan, a distributist land policy was adopted with respect to the Federacy's colonies in Punth, reserving land grants to family farmers, coōperatives, religious institutions, and rural development groups.

Encouraged by this policy and northern Punth's cool temperate climate, thousands of unemployed Kiravians from both rural and urban areas applied for land grants and set sail for Avenika. The Homestead Bureau gave priority to

Various religious organisations associated with the Coscivian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches, as well as several independent and interdenominational groups arrived in Avenika and launched educational initiatives to teach former urbanites agricultural techniques using teaching methods originally designed to assist indigenous peoples.

Later in 21206, Kiravian and Kuhlfrosian forces assisted by allied Maīokee tribes declared war on the Teyohuxul Triple Alliance and anti-colonial Maīokee polities. By the end of the conflict, the boundaries of Avenika had been expanded to the northern banks of the Archangel River, dramatically increasing the colony's land area. The political status of the Maīokee was settled with the Treaty of Parera, which recognised the tribes that had pledged loyalty to the Federacy as "perpetual protectorates" thereöf, granting them autonomy over their traditional homelands, special rights to petition the Federal and colonial governments through official channels, and Kiravian nationality for their people.

In 21207, the seat of government was moved from Parera to the inland city of Vómrasar.

Society and Culture

Back-to-the-land movement. More displacement and reservation, less miscegnation makes for a more purely Coscivian culture. Variety of ethnic groups, rooted multiethnic communities, usually united by religious denomination. Many former industrial workers from Upper Kirav and Kiygrava, many Norboriem. Religious leadership and monasticism. Distributist Catholic and Orthodox missions help former urbanites learn agriculture. Rural Life Federation.
