| In addition to allegations of corruption and regulatory violations, BTC and its numerous subsidaries and affiliates have been criticised for practicing corporate imperialism by way of its influence in many underdeveloped Cronan, Alsharine, and Audonian countries where most of its agricultural products are sourced from, and the environmental impact of many of its activities, particularly plantation monocultures and the palm oil trade. The BTC Group rejects such accusations, noting that it has an effusively worded Environmental Sustainability Pledge on many of its websites and is a major donor to the Míhanska Bay Reclamation Fund and other environmental charities.
