ABAN
ABAN/ABANG (Armachd Beoil Aonaichte Neo-Ghluasadach/Immobile Mounted Beam Weapon) is a classification of stationary or ship-mounted fiber laser weapon system in use by the Fanerian military, primarily referring to the ABAN-ALSA-2023-6 and -2024-1 platforms (ALSA standing for Armachd Laser-Snà ithleach Aonaichte/Mounted Fiber Laser Weapon). There are currently no other types of laser weapon in development by Faneria other than the ABAN-ALSA program. The ABAN program has been stated by the Fanerian government to be a direct response to the emergence of other DEWs, and aims to produce a weapons system capable of deployment in the field as a large naval surface combatant-mounted system by 2030.

Two variations, the ALSA-2023-6 and ALSA 2024-1, are known to be operational as of Nov. 2025.
Testing
Testing reports remain classified. However, in 2023, the stated role of the ALSA system was changed from a strategic defense platform and ship-mounted system to only a utility and point defense system to be fitted onto nuclear-powered large surface ships.
