The College of Calderan Kieterschmidt (Abbreviated as CoCK) is an Ænglish only tertiary educational institution in Neu Berlin, Caldera. CoCK is the biggest and most popular foreign language speaking school in the country, with over 145,000 alumni worldwide, and a cap of 25,000 students at a given time.

CoCK offers 130 undergraduate programs, over 80 master's programs, and 6 doctoral programs. The school has a 1:25 faculty to student ratio, with 1,000 professors fluent in Ænglish and often told never to speak Gothic in order to increase the immersion of the Ænglish only school.

Out of the 1,022 staff, a little under half are not from Caldera, making CoCK the most diverse school in the nation.

History

Founded in 1858 as the Kieterschmidt Institut für Wissenschaft, the college was originally headed by scientist Ehrman Kieterschmidt who wanted to share the study of science with new generations. As the college became reviewed by the Volkspartei, many scientific discoveries were ordered not to be taught due to non-Gothic influence, which would supposedly poison the minds of young adults. Kieterschmidt made minor changes to the curriculum, often continuing to teach new discoveries but using entirely Gothic names, until he came under fire in 1867 for accidentally posting an article about a non-Gothic scientist.

In 1868, with funding from the Ænglish Minority Party, Kieterschmidt got the license to convert his academy into an Ænglish only school, he was then able to teach all non-Gothic topics and discoveries with no restrictions. During this, he renamed the school to College of Calderan Kieterschmidt, which he believed to be a sensible Ænglish name, and it implies that the school is the study of Caderan Kieterschmidt, which is what Kieterschmidt wanted to brand his form of liberal sciences.

After Kieterschmidt's death in 1872, CoCK elected a new chancellor and became less science based, offering a variety of Ænglish only degrees.

Calls for a rename

Some native Ænglish students have petitioned to rename the school, claiming that the school's abbreviation, CoCK, is also a vulgar colloquial word of Ænglish origin. Proposed names have included the Calderan Institute of Ænglish (CIoA), College of Calderan Ænglish (CoCA), and some petitioners just want the college to drop the "o" from the abbreviation to make it CCK.

Many chancellors have refused to accept these petitions and calls for a rename, citing that the school is widely known for its abbreviation and any change would be detrimental, with some chancellors going so far to say that the school will be known as the CoCK Munchers forever.
