Destransar is the capital and largest city of Sydona. It is a coastal city situated at the mouth of the River Kleva, last founded around 750 AD as a Pelian settlement by the name of Dağbaśyamat. After its conquest by the Elamite Order the town was renamed Destransar in honour of a fallen Elamite knight-commander named Destran. Destransar is the financial, commercial, professional centre of the Sydonas, its main transportation hub, and an important industrial city. It is noted for its architectural variety: Although most of the city's buildings date to the socialist period and reflect that government's architectural ideology, Destransar has a larger inventory of pre-socialist and post-socialist buildings than other Sydonan cities.
The population of Destransar is 52% Coscivian, XW% Pelian, XY% Thrakoslav, and Z% from other ethnic backgrounds, including Audonian, Istroyan, and Leinish. Over 60% of the Coscivian population are Austral Coscivians or Thrakoscivians, while a large minority just under 40% are "Overseas Coscivians" (more recent migrants from other Kiravian regions or other Coscivian countries). The city is regarded as thoroughly Coscivian in its culture and lifestyle, as the Pelian, Thrakoslav, and minority populations are for the most part heavily Coscivised in language and customs.
