The Flualimi-class destroyer (DDM) is a class of Stenzan destroyer. Of the two destroyer classes in service with the Stenzan Navy, it is the newer one. A larger class of multirole ship than the frigate, it is more capable in taking on a veriety of roles. A major improvement over its predecessor is its Vertical Launch System tubes, allowing it to be outfitted for a variety of missions.

Design

The Flualimi-class was designed to replace in the 2000s to a design request to augment or replace the Happu-class destroyer with a modern design that featured a Vertical Launch System. The new ship, together with a new frigate class, were to project Stenzan naval power into the 21st century. The design is based off other contemporary naval vessels of the era, borrowing design elements from various navies.

Block II

The original production run of the class consisted of 10 destroyers, built between 2005 and 2017. A 2025 proposal however outlined the production of 15 extra "Block 2" destroyers to be built to replace the aging Happu fleet. Construction of the new ships started in late 2027, with changes having been made to accommodate more modern design features.

Operational History

The Flualimi-class ships have yet to be proven in true combat, having only faced hostile forces in anti-piracy operations since entering service. The ships are trained regularly however, working together with Stenza's major combatant fleets or leading squadrons of their own. These ships have recently been involved in joint operations with the Arcer navy, working together to battle piracy in the Malentine Sea on joint operations.
