House Kanchi is one of the five main houses of Canespa, it is the second largest House in population and in total number of senators. It is located in the far Northeast of Canespa and controls the Suyukuna's of Chincha Cuenca and Qulla Cuenca. It additionally controls the surrounding mikuna's. It is culturally the most distinct house and has had several independence movements in the past but none since the 19th century.

History

Formation

House Kanchi started out as a simple family in the central part of the Cusinaut around the bay. This family soon grew into a tribe, and eventually it became the first area in Canespa to organize and centralize into what could be considered a proto-state around the year 100. Archeological sites from this time indicate a booming civilization that followed an oral tradition similar to that of M'acunism. Several pyramids have been unearthed and early canals around the main bends of the river surrounding the House. The House quickly grew from its origin spot and slowly spread across the plains of the Central Cusinaut bay. It mainly farmed crops like barely and corn which were growing in the midst of the region. Archeological finds also indicate the expansion of a large city experts call Kalachia. Kalachia seems to have stable growth that can be analyzed with carbon dating up until around the year 540. The damage is indicated to be man made and the city seems to have been abandoned after that. Around the northern and eastern borders it is theorized that House Kanchi did not continue to grow in that direction due to a Algoshi and early Northern Federation style tribes.

Ending the Chinkasqa

House Chinkasqa is the name given to an early tribe that formed slightly southwest of where the early House Kanchi formed in an area around modern day Qulla Cuenca. The House was quite advanced and formed before even House Papa did according to dating artifacts found in the period. This house seemed to have a large tradition around the smoking of tobacco. Tobacco was likely a religious, ceremonial, and popular activity in early House Chinkasqa. Due to proximity a bitter rivalry erupted between House Chinkasqa, and the larger of the two House Kanchi. After a few border skirmishes the tribal leaders of the two areas declared a proclamation of war on each others houses. Early on in the war House Kanchi was crushing House Chinkasqa. Chinkasqa was outnumbered and had far less resources. If it wasn't for a young general by the name of ____ who rose up as a powerful warrior is House Chinkasqa then the war would have ended fast. In a fast lighting attack the ____ went on a battle spree and took the fighting into the Kanchi's homeland. In order to win battles he razed the farmland and forests along his war path. This was against almost everything that M'acunism was for but the young general saw it as a neccassary expense in order to ensure the safety of House Chinkasqa. This lighting spree eventually ended with the scorching of Kalachia, the previously mentioned human made damage was caused by the mass forces of House Chinkasqa. These attacks left House Kanchi is a vulnerable position that was eventually lifted due to the fighting spirit of House Kanchi. The house raised another army and this time they ended it. During the scorching of Kalachia ____ was killed. With his death the forces of Chinkasqa were much less spirited and with their broken moral they were pushed back until the entirety of House Chinkasqa was conquered by the Kanchi. After this the members of House Chinkasqa were slowly assimilated into the greater House Kanchi. This would end a period of war and consolidate House Kanchi into a shape resembling its modern day borders. This war lasted around 20 years and decimated the male population of the area. Due to the heavy damage done to nature the Line of Chinkasqa was created. The Line of Chinkasqa is a long line of pyramids stretching across the Canespan portion of the central bays tributary.

Defending against the Wasi

While a period of peace was created at the end of the Chinkasqa wars, House Kanchi was not free from the clutches of war. During the 12th century House Wasi had ambition. It wanted to unite the Canespan houses under one banner, its banner. The proclamation of the second Wasi King occured and it was followed by House Wasi announcing its intentions to unite Canespa. After a war with House Papa and the following deals with the other Canespan Houses the new state of Canespa, also called Wasiqana, was about where its modern borders outside of the Kanchi territory. House Kanchi refused to join the Wasi Kings empire and instead wanted to create its own state. Angered by this foolishness the Wasi King formally declared an invasion of House Kanchi and the smaller Houses within it. This would create a new decade long conflict that would result in the deaths of thousands of native men along with the sacking of many major cities. Several battles occured along the highlands of Canespa inbetween the two areas. House Kanchi was only able to hold on for so long though. Even if it was the most powerful house it had the weight of all of Wasiqana pushing against it. Eventually after 11 years of fighting House Kanchi fell to the new state of Wasiqana. The second personification of the Wasi King was the first to be able to unite all of Canespa under one banner, with this development the final domino fell and House Papa inherited all the future subjects of House Wasi. With this House Papa came to become the largest house overtaking House Kanchi for the first time in history. These events deeply ingrained themselves into the minds of House Kanchi. They were not willing to sit on the side lines and watch as Canespa envelop them. House Kanchi would return.

The Schools

House Kanchi is vary unique in that it is the only House who's majority school is not the Plant School. Instead the majority of individuals from House Kanchi have historically found themselves in the Man School with some stolen traditions from the Plant school. In recent times, due to their closeness to the Plant School, the Nature school has taken up a lot of popularity in the region. The religious makeup of the area is split three ways with the Man School, Nature School, and Plant School all having a large following. Though despite this the Man School is declining fast in relation to the other schools. By 2050 the makeup of House Kanchi is expected to be around 40% Plant School, 50% Nature School, and 10% Man School. But things can change and the Nature School is currently the most dominate in the area despite being less popular among other countries following M'acunism.

Religious sites

The Line of Wasiqana and the Great Pyramid of Kanchi are most likely the two largest and most famous religious sites within the House Kanchi territory. Both structures are visited by thousands of Canespan citizens all of whom wish to pay respect to the fallen spirits that were harmed by the battles that took place over the lands. In these two pyramid structures thousands of flowers are planted along the borders of the structures. These flowers are allowed to grow uncontrolled and as such beautiful flowering fields can be seen more miles along these structures.

Growth

House Kanchi is home to many new improvements that the government of Canespa has begun to implement. Hamuq city for example is well within House Kanchi's territory and has been endorsed by the house as a large product. In addition to this House Kanchi is seeing one of the largest population and infrastructure build ups in a long time. On its current path House Kanchi is expected to pass up House Papa in around 30 years but this is unlikely due to the rate of growth slowly dropping.
