Khov is a city in Daxia and capital of the Khov Province. Founded in 684 CE as a garrison city by the Oduniyyad Caliphate for its Audonian troops along the contested eastern border with the Daxian empire. It became an ethnically diverse city during the Islamic period as the local walis settled muslims from all across the enlarging caliphate to guard this vital frontier. In the early 700's, internal convulsions of the caliphate led it to lose control of some of its outlying territories. Local nobles expelled the Oduniyyad governor and founded their own dynasties. The new state of Ghanim claimed Khov as its own capital city and it would remain so until 885 when the kingdom lost its independence to medieval Daxia. In the modern era Khov was the scene of the fierce Battle of Khov that destroyed much of the city and damaged its historical landmarks. Recovery continues into the 2020's, the city is now host to a developing pharmaceutical industry centered on the production of the drug captagon. The state owned captagon manufacturer Opodo Corporation has its headquarters in the city.
