A prime court is a type of court which is nominally the same level as other high level courts within a nation but in reality functions as the nation's highest court of appeals. The reason for this can be historical precedence, prestige associated with a particular court, tradition, or if it has been identified in law to serve this function. The most prominent example of a prime court is the Archducal Court of Urcea, and its example appears to have inspired other nations' judicial systems which employ a similar hierarchy.
