The RS-51 was designed by Atonia Freducciana, a wealthy business-woman from Napolis in 1950 while working for YERA. It's main user is Calinthia. It was designed due to the Calinthian Mililtary's necessity for a modern main battle rifle. The nationalized company YERA was funded by the Calinthian government in 1949 to begin designing a main battle rifle that the Calinthian Armed Forces could use. During the Second Great War, Urcea supplied Calinthia with SAR-40 rifles. These were deemed efficient weapons by the Calinthian Military for licensing, resulting in YERA 'Calinthianizing' the weapon platform. Unlike the SAR-40 however, the RS-51 uses the larger 7.92x57mm Calinthian cartridges. This among other smaller additions to the weapon platform make it slightly heavier than its SAR-40 predecessor. The later RS-86 model produced in 1986, would adopt the 6.5 Calinthian. This was a decision based off the need of soldiers on the ground. It was reported during the Second Insurgency War that the larger 7.92x57mm Calinthian rounds failed to reach across the vast valleys of the Montes Aureos mountains. Therefore, the Calinthian Military would redesign the weapon to use the smaller 6.5 Calinthian cartridge to achieve longer distance shooting. With the 6.5 Calinthian, the RS-86 is capable of reaching out to 900m before losing effective firing accuracy.

Variants
- RS-51 - Original production run. These are the earliest models and were used in the Calinthian Purges by the CAF. Still in use by guerilla factions including the Protestants of Calinthia organization.
- RS-86 - First model to adopt 6.5 Calinthian, which would become the standard for all later models. Alongside the 6.5 Calinthian addition came smaller design adjustments such as improved rear sights, and stronger materials.
- RS-02 - The latest and most modern addition to the RS-51 family. Designed and produced in 2002, the RS-02 has improved rails for attachments, increased magazine size, and made of stronger materials.
