Copake: Difference between revisions

Although Eastern Venua'tino had been settled by various peoples since at least 1000 BC, Copake is the first independent state established in this territory. Major cities and tribal nations were subject to the so-called [[Venua%27tino#Prehistoric_times|Venua Empire]] in {{wp|Antiquity}}, and the region faced loose [[Quetzenkel|Quetzen]] hegemony during the medieval period. The rise of a unified [[Quetzenkel]] and end of the Quetzen mercantile cities lead to a period of self rule and lack of centralized state organization, and from then on the modern country's borders has largely been divided into shifting leagues of the country's major population centers. Despite the political division, the region developed a generally cohesive culture with some local differences, and developed a shared language known internationally as "Eastern Venua".The establishment of the League of Nations mandate over Venua'tino lead to [[Urcea|Urcean]] intervention in forging a federated state which would be able to represent the region on the world stage. Although negotiations were halted by the [[Final War of the Deluge]] and several skirmishes between rival parties took place in the late 2010s, an agreement was finally reached with the Treaty of Halfway in 2024. On 1 January 2025, the Republic of Copake was officially formed. The Republic is currently in the process of creating an initial constitution, currently being governed on a provisional basis under the terms of the Treaty.
