Cartadanian Armed Forces: Difference between revisions

The history of the Cartadanian Armed Forces dates back to the 16th century when the Cartadanian Army was formed as an autonomous reporting unit of the Caphirian Imperial Legion, a unit known as the Legio Septentrionalis ({{literal translation|Red Legion}}). Its role was primarily the defense of East Cognatia, today what is Cartadania. In 1603, the Cartadanian Navy and Marine Corps were jointly formed under the autonomous government, pre-establishing Cartadania's naval and amphibious forces, though they still fell within the realm of the Imperium. Cartadania's navy, in particular, can actually trace its history to the mid-1400s, when the southern realm of the region began naval power projection efforts to expand the state. It wasn't incorporated as a formal body, however, until its present-standing date. Since then, the armed forces have played a significant role in Cartadanian military history, particularly during the Second Great War, when they fought against Caphiria and Vachena.
