The growing power of Rixis fueled by its larger hinterland and devious rulers soon came to outstrip its reach. The nobility and military castes chafed at the lack of expansion. The ambitious 18th Umatz, Tikol the Great channeled these sentiments into a desire for war. He took advantage of a great pestilence ravaging Tolon to break the Triple alliance and attack the city. The siege of Tolon lasted for three whole years and the people of the city grimly resisted the takeover, with Tikol losing four sons during the siege and thousands of warriors until the city finally fell in 1132 BCE. | |||
