The MM-26 is a {{wp|Blowback (arms)|straight blowback}} submachine gun with a milled receiver and wooden buttstock. A three position safety switch sits immediately outside the trigger guard that switches the gun from safe to semi-automatic to fully-automatic fire. The rate of fire sits around 800 rounds per minute (down from {{circa}} 1050 in prototypes).
