Main article: Army of Burgundie

The current structure of the Army of Burgundie was codified in the Army of Burgundie Force Restructuring Act of 2003. It is divided into the Regular Army (Metropole Forces and the Foreign Legion) and the Legion of Volunteers and Levies. Some constituent countries further maintain a state defense forces (Faramount and Nostrestran), as a type of reserve that can be federalized through the Title 10 process. The Faramount Royal Defense Force is "organized", meaning that it is an armed force, the Nostrestran Militia System is "unorganized", meaning that all able-bodied citizens (of all genders) may be eligible to be called into military service.

The Army of Burgundie is also divided into several functional Corps. These Corps are headed by a school to maintain consistency of training and standards across the Regular Army, the Legion of Volunteers and Levies, and the state defense forces. While the total list of branches is exhaustive the most famous Corps are:

It is a grouping of 3 cavalry troops (Burg: troupes), one engineering peleton, and a platoon-sized headquarters unit.

It is a grouping of 4 cavalry troops (Burg: troupes), each with two armored vehicles, primarily the Cross Trucking Company AMX-10 RCR and the Cross Trucking Company Jaguar.

A section from the String Support Company is seconded to each Squadron and works directly with the Maréchal des logis to ensure supply and sustainment is maintained.

EBRC Jaguar, the backbone of the Army Corps of Cavalry (Burg: Corps Strates de Cavalerie).

After the Army of Burgundie Combat Capability Realignment of 2026, an Army of Burgundie cavalry troop (Burg: troupe) typically has 32 people assigned, commanded by a lieutenant or an adjudant (high ranking NCO).

The armored groupe consists of 4 Cross Trucking Company Jaguar, armed with a 40mm cannon and a dual Feu Akeron missile launcher, commanded by a Sergeant (Burg: Marshal de logis). Each Cross Trucking Company Jaguar has a team of three, a driver, gunner, and commander, for a total of 12 personnel in the groupe.

The investigation groupe consists of 4 Cross Trucking Company VBLs, one armed with a 6.9mm light machine gun, two armed with 12.7mm (.50 cal) heavy machine guns, and one armed with a 20mm grenade launcher. The investigation groupe is commanded by a Sergeant (Burg: Marshal de logis). Each Cross Trucking Company VBL has a team of three, a driver, gunner, and commander, for a total of 12 personnel in the groupe.

The command HQ element has an unarmed command and control (C2) Cross Trucking Company VBL with the troupe commander, typically a lieutenant or an adjudant (a high-ranking NCO with the same responsibilities as a lieutenant), a driver, and a reconnaissance drone operator. The relief truck is a diesel-electric hybrid Cross Trucking Company GBC 180 with the Platoon Sergeant (Burg: Marshal de logis-chef) and a driver who act as the liaison between the unit and the company train. The placement of the Marshal de logis-chef in the logistical support role demonstrates the importance of logistics to the Army of Burgundie. The C2 element is rounded out with a seconded member of the String Armor Support Battery's Target Aquisition Platoon.

Cavalry Troop doctrine

Troupes do not have organic support and are only ever deployed in conjunction with other units. Armored doctrine in the Army of Burgundie is force-oriented, reconnaissance-in-force. The high-low mix of armored groupe and the investigation group allows for the Troupe to cover the most terrain with a light load on logistics and then to concentrate an ample amount of firepower when the enemy is found. Since the adoption of the Jaguar, with its Feu Akeron missiles, and the integration of the Armor Support Battery's Target Aquisition team with organic loitering munitions, the armored group can now, without support, go toe to toe with all but the most modern and advanced main battle tanks, which greatly shifts the previous concepts that Burgundie relied very heavily on Urcea in a peer-to-peer conflict for heavy armor support.
