Rindo (린도, 1957-2022) is a member of the Metzettan Imperial Family and reigned as the country's 169th Emperor from 2001 until his death in 2022. Rindo was born in Hanzeong during the reign of Empress Seunsi, and was the only child of Empress Joya. Rindo had 5 children; the second oldest of whom is currently Emperor of Metzetta, Emperor Hachi.
Early Life
Rindo was born in 1957 in the Imperial Household Hospital. Seunsi was the monarch at the time, reigning until 1989, by which time Rindo was already a father. Her cousin Hakan would succeed her but after 2 years he died and Rindo's grandfather Seozwi took over in 1991. In 1995 he became the heir apparent when his mother Joya ascended to the throne, being formally inducted as the crown prince later that year. Rindo learned the cello starting as soon as he was old enough to hold the instrument, and enjoyed swimming in the ocean as a teenager.
In 1965 Rindo made his first trip abroad for the wedding of his aunt Princess Haeki to Leo de Weluta in Urcea. He enjoyed the experience and arranged to make a state visit when he became Emperor, bringing his son the crown prince Hachi with him in 2003 and visiting again in 2009 and 2017.
Education
In high school Rindo played chess at a competitive level. He learned English, Corummese, Latin, Fhasen and New Grajni from an early age in preparation for his ambassadorial duties. Rindo graduated from Metzetta Imperial University with a degree in psychology in 1980. While at university he was enrolled in the History Society and played on the basketball team.
Marriage and Family
Rindo married Hikano in 1975 at 18 years of age. The couple had five children; their first daughter Hironi in 1976; their first son Hachi in 1980, their second son Seozwi in 1982; their second daughter Apya in 1985; and their third son Yonzi in 1987.
Reign
Rindo ascended to the throne in 2001 after his mother's death. He inducted his son Hachi as crown prince in 2002.
