Bordellaux Palm Gates Banking Company, trading as Bordellaux Palmgate is a Pribraltarian bank that specialises in high-confidentiality personalised banking services for high-networth individuals, family offices, and enterprises. Founded as a merchant bank in 1889 by Pribraltarians Pertran Dumórêv and Albertus Magnus Kerr[1] and Cartadanian Armando da Guava, Bordellaux Palmgate gradually moved towards providing bespoke service to only the wealthiest merchants and firms involved in the lucrative Vallos-Kindreds trade. The bank rocketed to prominence during the Kiravian Civil War as the tide began to turn against anti-communist forces, spurring rapid capital flight as the Kiravian bourgeoisie, major companies, and well-endowed nonprofit institutions (such as the University of Belarus) rushed to move their assets overseas for safekeeping. Initially, a great deal of this money was stowed away in Æonara- or Rovaīon-based banks or the sophisticated Caphirian financial system, until Pribraltarian banks, with Bordellaux Palmgate at the forefront, entered the ring offering friendly Coscivian-speaking staff and tax advantages derived from their home island's special legal status.

The bank is named for the private park, use of which is reserved for paying customers, which is populated with well-tended Bordellaux palms[2] and palmettos, which surrounds its sandstone perimeter wall, as well as for its ornate bronze entrance gate.

Notes

  1. A.M. Kerr is a second cousin twice removed of noted financial misunderstanding victim Juan Kerr
  2. The Bordellaux palm was named by Kiravian botanist Mungo MacIlwain in honour of his patron, the Yonderian nobleman Louen de Bordelleaux of the famed House de Bordellaux
