LaMarque, officially the City of LaMarque (Cartadanian: Cidade da LaMarque) is a city in the Commonwealth of Verona. It is located in Cara County within the Alahuela Metro Area. LaMarque is the largest city in the county, with a population of about 391,613 at the end of 2023, and is also the seat of the county government. The city is very well known across the state, primarily due to it being the location of Fortaleza and a few of the federal government's agencies (e.g., CIRO). It is the third-largest major city in the metro area, after Alahuela and Saint Tomás, but is the seat of the largest entity in the area as well, with Cara County being more populous than both Alahuela and Rieti County.
