Orixtal was founded in 1964 in Santiago, Auqali by 19-year old Tony Yedlin, after inheriting his father’s extensive billboard company, Yedlin Industries. Originally, the company was named “Yedlin Telecom” and was a subsidiary of the billboard company. In 1971, just seven years after the company’s founding, Yedlin completed one of the largest mergers in Tierradorian history, with Tierrador Telecom, at the time the largest telecommunications company in Crona. Subsequently, the company was rebranded and remodeled to Orixtal Communications. Following this merger, the company’s popularity skyrocketed over the course of five years. By 1979, Orixtal had caught up with its main domestic competitor TK Group and had nearly held a monopoly over the Tierradorian communications market. In 1989, Orixtal expanded into the Vallosian subcontinent, investing into the growing telecommunications markets in Almadaria and Takatta Loa. In 1993, VallTell was founded in Piedratorres as a subsidiary of Orixtal, and with direct funding from Yedlin, grew into the largest telecommunications provider in Almadaria, Takatta Loa, Rumahoki and Puertego.
As of 2032, Orixtal is the largest telecommunications provider in Crona, and is rapidly-growing in popularity outside of the continent. The company provides a wide variety of services to nearly every nation in the world. The company was a pioneer in the development of the global 5G network, and is rapidly working to provide free fast internet to every corner of the world by 2040. Despite the company being named after the Orixtal Sea, it is actually based in Qabór, a city facing the Songun Sea. Despite this, there has been no attempt or reason to change the company’s name, as the brand is already very well-known worldwide.
