The Purpaidá position was created in 2016 out of various independent agencies and portions of the Ministries of Justice, Commerce, and the Armed Services.
Office for Travel and Excise Dues
The Office for Travel and Excise Dues is the day-to-day law enforcement agency at most of Urcea's ports of entry, responsible for providing security and logistical concerns associated with them. The Office is also responsible for collecting tariffs and excise taxes where they exist.
Agency for Air-Security
The Agency for Air-Security is responsible for ensuring the safety of airline travel within Urcea and, as such, establishes and oversees screening procedures at the nation's airports in conjunction with the Agency for Royal Airports. While the Agency for Royal Airports is responsible for ensuring the security of airports themselves, the wide-reaching screening authority provided to the Agency for Air-Security makes it the de facto security body for Urcea's airports.
Agency for Excise Dues
Agency for Customs
Office for Frontier Management and Protective Services
The Office was previously a part of the Ministry of the Armed Services, though portions of it were included within the Ministry of Justice.
Agency for Immigration Services
Department for Cronan Migratory Affairs
Agency for General Border Security
Agency for Controlled Substances
The Agency for Controlled Substances is the agency responsible for preventing the entry of illegal materials into Urcea, ranging from a wide array of narcotics to pornographic materials to birth control pills. Accordingly, it is the primary body for combatting the illegal vice trade in Urcea. The Agency is responsible for setting policies relating to these materials and working closely with the relevant law enforcement bodies, particularly the Agency for General Border Security and its subordinate Departments. The Agency is not a law enforcement body in itself and instead provides guidance and collaboration to the aforementioned law enforcement agencies. Many of the specific controlled substances covered by the Agency are policed at the local or provincial level, and the nation does not have a specific nationwide police force for dealing with specific materials harmful to the public morality.
Department for Northern Affairs
The Department for Northern Affairs (DNA) is a law enforcement body responsible for policing substances, materials, and practices coming into Urcea from Ardmore and from Yonderre through Anglei. The DNA has a specific mandate beyond that of the Agency for Controlled Substances and covers a wide array of activities, including preventing the entry of pornographic materials or prohibited birth control in the country, patrolling for abortion tourists, and in general is responsible for preventing the border from serving as a weak spot in the enforcement of public morality in Urcea. The Department works closely with the offices of the Censor in creating specific protocols for materials entering the country. The DNA has wide-reaching authority within a 100-mile zone from the nation's northern border.
Department for Domestic Controlled Substances
The Department for Domestic Controlled Substances (DCS) is a law enforcement agency responsible for policing the creation and distribution of illegal substances within Urcea. Its role is largely relegated to investigating major narcotics networks rather than the so-called "vice crimes" handled by the DNA, but the DCS also typically investigates large-scale child pornography rings, especially those with an international character.
Office for Disaster Relief and Preparedness
The Office was previously a part of the Ministry of the Armed Services.
Office for Foreign and Domestic Intelligence Services
The Office for Foreign and Domestic Intelligence Services (FDIS) is the body primarily responsible for provision of intelligence, both for foreign policy applications as well as for domestic criminal justice. The office itself is largely a clearinghouse of information for use between its subordinate agencies, the Agency for Intelligence Services Abroad (ISA) and the Agency for Domestic Intelligence and Investigatory Services (DIIS). FDIS as a body standardizes intelligence reports and makes available a wide number of data points between its subordinate agencies, ranging from DNA tests to reports on activity by foreign nationals. Critically, FDIS is empowered to mediate disputes between DIIS and the ISA, require reports be spread from one agency to another, and discipline both agencies and their personnel, ensuring that the work of both agencies is properly integrated for the protection of Urcea and the public.
Agency for Intelligence Services Abroad
The Agency for Intelligence Services Abroad (ISA) is Urcea's civilian foreign intelligence service officially tasked with gathering, processing, and analyzing national security information from around the world, primarily through the use of human intelligence and conducting covert action through its Department for Operations.
Department for Analysis
Department for Operations
The Department for Operations (DFO) serves as the clandestine arm of the ISA and the national authority for the coordination, de-confliction, and evaluation of clandestine operations across the world. Functionally speaking, the DFO serves as Urcea's covert operations arm.
Agency for Domestic Intelligence and Investigatory Services
The Agency for Domestic Intelligence and Investigatory Services (usually referred to as the "two Is" in shorthand) is the domestic intelligence and security service of Urcea and its principal federal law enforcement agency.
