Flight shame (Burg: ‘’volverecond’’) is the environmental movement, originated and particularly prevalent in Burgundie, that eschews flying unless absolutely necessary in favor of other forms of transit with a lesser carbon foot print. It is a myth that it is a “woke” grassroots movement. It was started as a marketing campaign for Doppel Gangway ferry service from Argenbagne to the island of Drusla, in the summer of 2033. The #volverecond “movement” was picked up my Lansing Lines rail road division in the spring of 2034 after an IP agreement was made. As of the summer of 2034 unfolded inter-city ocean going and rail services saw a steady increase in ticket sales as small inter-city airlines, particularly AiReal. By New Years Day 2035, Doppel Gangway had already laid down two hulls for luxury ocean liners to offer international alternatives to air travel.
As of June 2036 talks are underway with Royal Ecinian International cruise lines to provide “hop-on, hop-off” services for passengers from Burgundie in ports of call from Urcea, Caphiria, and Cartadania. This is a complicated process as it requires agreements with the border and customs agencies of each stop over country, as well as an amendment to company policy, and additional training for staff.
