The Barra (symbol: ฿; code: BAR; plural: Barrann) is the primary legal currency of Faneria. It was established in 1832 after the first Fhainnin Constitution as a replacement for Corinn (Crowns) and as a method of centralizing banking and minting under the monarchy's control. It remained the legal currency throughout the Civil War and to the present day with several modifications, including the addition of a decimal system in 1873 and the alteration of legal denominations in 1911 to alter the denominations printed.

Coins are available in one Pàirtbarra (1/10th Barra/.10 Barra), five Pàirtbarra (half-Barra), one Barra, and five Barra versions; the Thaler's nickel-equivalent (.05, or half-Pàirtbarra), quarters (two-and-half-Pàirtbarrann), and others (฿.75 and ฿15) were historically made but currently are only collector's items. 5-Barra coins are also increasingly less common. Unusual coins are still legal tender, but people are encouraged to turn them into collectors' items or exchange them for other, newer legal tender.
