Caffeine Consumption in Kiravia
Caffeine consumption is a major feature of Kiravian culture and the Kiravian lifestyle, being a cherished daily habit for 65-75% of Kiravian adults.
Coffee
Coffee is the most popular vehicle for caffeine consumption in Kiravia.
Kiravians have traditionally preferred dark roasts, but during the last thirty years, Caphiravian-style light roasts have surged in popularity, particularly in major metropolitan areas.
There exists a small domestic coffee cultivation sector in Kiravia, virtually all of which is concentrated in upland areas of the Melian Isles (see: Coffee production in the Melian Isles) and Æonara. However, Melian and Æonaran coffee output is insufficient to satisfy the enormous Kiravian demand, and the vast majority of coffee consumed in Kiravia is imported. Cartadania (see: Coffee production in Cartadania) and Caphiria are the largest exporters of coffee to Kiravia, followed by the Cape.
The Pan-Kiravian Association of Baristas, Beverage Technicians, and Caffeine Delivery Engineers, affiliated with the Pan-Kiravian Congress of Trade Unions, is the leading labour union for workers in the coffee service industry.

Tea
Tea consumption in Kiravia includes both "Old World" teas (Camellia craptastica) and "New World" or "Ixnay teas" (Camellia corummensis).
Tea is strongly preferred among Eshavian Coscivians and related Coscivian subgroups, such as Southerners and Ethnic groups in Kiravia#Tínoran Coscivians, who have a rich tea culture codified in a canon of tea classics.
