The Faramountesc Riviera is the narrow coastal strip in northeast of Faramount in Burgundie. It is a socio-cultural designation and is not a political entity. It has long been a resort area for high-ranking members of Holy Levantine Imperial nobility, and Urcean society. The area has a variety of towns that are internationally known as tourist sites and is a frequent stop for Royal Ecinian International cruises.

Economy

The GDPPC of the region is $53,430 which is above average in Burgundie. The coastal communities, of which there are 62 in the traditional interpretation of the Faramountesc Riviera, rely on hospitality and services industries surrounding tourism as their primary industry. 14 of the towns still operate as fishing villages but the fishing industry is primarily for show. The area employs 429,000 seasonal workers from all over the world in peak tourist season. These jobs, primarily low paying service sector work, are popular with Audonian and Alshari post-colonial people seeking educational and full-time work in Burgundie. Outsourcing these jobs has long kept wages low for non-Faramountesque workers, but has concentrated wealth with the year-round residents, keeping the GDPPC high. Many residents own multiple businesses for example running one's house as a Gîte, a restaurant, and a fishing charter is a common business model for families in the region.

Culture

The residents of the region are typically upper middle class and as a result, the area is decidedly impacted by bourgeois norms, in particular its conspicuous consumption.
