Imperial Regalia of Metzetta

The Imperial Regalia of Metzetta consists of the sword Daegeom, the flute Nunbusin Tanso and the crown Geolughan Gwan. According to legend, these treasures were gifted to Yang-jo, Metzetta's first Emperor and mythical ancestor of the Metzettan imperial line. Traditionally they were a divine symbol of the Emperor's ancestry and authority, legitimising his rule.
Daegeom
The sword Daegeom was, according to legend, a gift to Yang from Ssaum, his grandfather and the god of war. The sword is kept in the High Priest's shrine in Hanzeong for safety when not being used. The sword represents the Emperor's strength.
Nunbusin Tanso
The flute Nunbusin Tanso was, according to legend, a gift to Yang from Hwajae, his grandmother and the goddess of love. The flute is kept in a dedicated shrine at the base of Mount Riwa where high-ranking priests watch over it. The flute represents the Emperor's wisdom and ability to create.
Geolughan Gwan
The crown Geolughan Gwan was, according to legend, forged by Byeol, the demigod of the stars, who bestowed it upon his son Yang as a symbol of his authority. The crown resides in the grounds of the imperial palace in Hanzeong. The crown represents the Emperor's ancestry and authority.
Role
Since before written records the three treasures being presented to the Emperor by the High Priest has been a key part of the enthronement ceremony for new monarchs. When not being used in the ceremony the items are strictly off-limits to the public, and they are not provided to institutions for research due to fears this would "de-mythologise" them.
