Subunits and Denominations
Subunits Due to the vigesimal numeral systems of most Cosco-Adratic languages and the Celtic languages, the saar is a non-decimal currency. One saar is divisible into 20 tāruya or 400 xîluya. An auxiliary subunit, the berm, was introduced in 21188 to facilitate international trade and cross-currency accounting. One berm equals 4 xîluya or 1/100th of a saar.
A number of informal and regional names for the saar and its subunits exist. Colloquially, the saar is often referred to as the lira (pl. liré). East of the Western Highlands, the tāruv subunit is referred to as the skudo, whereas in Western Kirav skudo refers to the atra superunit (20 saar) and the subunit is instead called vellon or vellón. Stēm and ingkót are other unofficial names for the atra.
Denominations Predominantly Roman Catholic.
