The Verona General Assembly is a bicameral state legislature consisting of a lower house, the Verona Chamber of Emissaries, with 120 members; and an upper house, the Senate of Verona, with 80 members. Both houses of the Legislature convene at the Verona State Capitol in Sevilla. The Verona state legislature is one of just ten full-time state legislatures in Cartadania.
The Social Democracy Party currently holds veto-proof supermajorities in both houses of the Verona General Assembly. The House consists of 102 SDPs and 16 UCPs, with two vacancies, while the Senate is composed of 62 SDPs and 18 UCPS. Except for a brief period from 1976 to 1978, the House has been in SDP hands since the 1910 election. The Senate has been under continuous SDP control since 1910.
