Ardmori bargain

The Ardmori bargain is a conspiracy theory that Ardmore, at some time during the 16th century, made an agreement with the Holy Levantine Empire for the Empire to destroy the Ænglish Realm in the Nordmontaine War in exchange for financial benefit. The "bargain", proponents say, was struck in order to achieve Ardmore's dream of global empire, using Ænglish people as a colonial population. Proponents cite the increase in trade between Ardmore and Urcea and the rest of the Empire as evidence of the agreement, arguing that Ardmore repaid the Empire in trade and wealth as well as access to its global colonies. Nearly all scholars and historians have dismissed the bargain as a conspiracy theory with no basis in reality, but it remains a popular history in Anglei and has colored relations between the two countries since.
