The Potato House (Fhasen: Taigh a' Bhuntàta) is a Fanerian chain of restaurants with more than 2,700 locations across Levantia and Kiroborea.
Originally, every item on The Potato House incorporated a potato - from baked pies to sweet desserts to soups and other dishes. However, as the company spread across Faneria, the menu quickly grew to encompass vegetable and meat dish combinations, especially steaks, various potato, and sweet potato dishes and varieties, and traditional Gaelic dining including stews, oysters and mollusks, stuffed buns, honeyed and salted briskets, and other potato-related dishes.
Taigh a' Bhuntàta was founded in 1946 by Conán O'Hafsaer, a Fanerian farmer and entrepreneur. O'Hafsaer's family owned one of the largest private farms in Faneria, with over 36,000 acres. Though they grew many fruits and vegetables, the O'Hafsaers were known for their potato farm. During the height of the Second Great War, O'Hafsaer converted the entirety of his land to a potato farm and sold potatoes exclusively for the Fanerian government. After the war, O'Hafsaer was given an additional 75,000 acres by the Fanerian government for his contribution. O'Hafsaer became known for his potatoes and quickly capitalized on the post-war boom by launching Taigh a' Bhuntàta - The Potato House, a potato-centered casual restaurant. By 1956 when Conán passed away, there were over 800 Taigh a' Bhuntàta locations across Faneria. Conán's son Íobhar succeeded him as Potato King. Under Íobhar, the company went through a rapid expansion fueled by a successful franchise program. This expansion led to the company going public in 1958 and opening its first location outside of Faneria on 27 March 1959.
Today, the Potato House has over 2,000 locations across 15 countries. The company is still majority-owned and controlled by the O'Hafsaer family.
