Conspiracy theories in Kiravia
Conspiracy theories are a recurring phenomenon in contemporary Kiravian culture.
Sociologists have identified a number of factors that may contribute to the popularity of conspiracy theories in Kiravia, inluding the relative opacity of government institutions generally and the security apparatus in particular, fears of Occidental cultural and geopolitical hegemony, institutional and psychic legacies of 20th century authoritarianism under the Kiravian Remnant and Kiravian Union and their respective propaganda strategies, and demographic unrepresentativeness of the country's political and managerial classes.

Irasur Mérovin disappearance
The mysterious 2003 disappearance of incumbent Prime Executive Irasur Mérovin during a helicopter flight over the high arctic waters of the Coscivian Sea has naturally attracted speculation that the incident was no accident, with accusations falling on a variety of possible perpretrators, who whom several possible motives have been ascribed. Conspiracy theorists have placed the blame on H.M. Xosvipelan (who succeeded him as Acting PE), Burgundine foreign intelligence, the IRA, Kirosocialists, the right-wing deep state, Zurgite Varshan, extraterrestrials, the BayTrade Group, Ænglishmen, and the whaling industry.
Cládiuv Luatorkár bestiality scandal
A significant minority of Kiravians believe that the scandal surrounding Green Party leader Cládiuv Luatorkár's inappropriate behaviour with livestock was a frame-up orchestrated by the Renaissance Party and its sympathisers in the security services, and that the evidence presented in support of the allegations against Luatorkár was fabricated. Luatorkár himself has claimed to be a victim of such a conspiracy.
