Kiro-Audonian SakOil Corporation, formerly known as Kiro-Sakatian SakOil-Sakneft Hydrocarbon Corporation is a state-owned oil and gas enterprise controlled by the government of the Kiravian Federacy. Originally founded as the state oil monopoly in Communist Sakatia, the corporation and its assets were confiscated by the Kiravian Military Authority for Sakatia during the international occupation of Sakatia, and subsequently declared the property of the Kiravian government. The company continues oil and gas operations in Kiravian Sakatia and the nearby Kiravian colonies of Crimea and Kiravian Sakhalin, and is headquartered in Sak Paré.

The company falls under the auspices of the cabinet-level Federal Energy Executive's Oil & Gass Bureau, and its top administrative personnel are appointed by the Federacy's Chief Energy Executive. With the exception of certain regulatory mandates to provide low-cost fuel to Kiravian Sakatia and Crimea, the company currently operates much as a private firm would, with no other public responsibilities or government privileges at present. A majority of the corporation's profits are put towards infrastructural development and land purchases in Kiravian Sakatia.

Political History and Future

The confiscation of SakOil was originally intended as a temporary measure, with the Candrin administration intending to eventually sell the company off to private investors as part of their decommunisation and economic redevelopment policy in the Kiravian Zone of Occupied Sakatia. However, this plan was interrupted by the end of the Shaftonist-Republican Alliance minority government as a result of the 21206 Stanora Campaign Finance Scandal and the induction of the Coscivian National Congress into a new governing coälition with the SRA and Caucus of Justice. Unlike the market liberal SRA, which oversaw massive privatisation efforts after the fall of Kirosocialism, the CNC's more mercantilist and petronationalist platform called for the creation of a state-owned hydrocarbon company to help regulate energy prices in the Federacy and generate state revenue. CNC lawmakers, who viewed the confiscation of SakOil as a fortunate shortcut through the uphill political battle of chartering such a company from scratch, demanded that the privatisation process be halted as a condition of their participation in the coälition. As a compromise, ownership of the company was handed over from the Federal government to the Government-General of Kiravian Sakatia.

Ahead of a LATA agreement to share sovereignty over former Sakatian occupation zones between the occupying powers and the United States of Sakatia, the Federal government resumed ownership of the company, which remained headquartered in Sak Paré, Kiravian Sakatia.
