The Censorial Assembly is one of the [[Council of Ministers (Caphiria) |executive ministries]] of Caphiria. It is a sacrosanct group of magistrates responsible for the protection of the Constitution and serves as the ethical, legal, and moral oversight body of the Government of Caphiria. The Censorial Assembly's primary duties are to prosecute magistrates for poor moral and legal conduct, intercede against legislation or government activities which violates constitutional law, administer the official Public Census every lustrum, and launch censorial investigations.
The Censorial Assembly consists of 18 magistrates, known as Censores, who have the sole authority to issue a percontatio - a public investigation into any military, civil, or private activity, person, or group within the Imperium - including the Imperator himself. This authority is backed by the Constitution, making the Censores the most powerful people in Caphiria and leading foreigners to speculate that they are the true power behind the Imperium.
