Latinic people

The Latinic people, colloquially known as Latins, are a ethnolinguistic group. Latins share a common culture, history, ancestry and language, and Latinic peoples and descendent cultures live in a wide geographic area ranging from Vallos to northern Levantia. Latinic people originated in Urlazio and formed the Adonerii civilization, subsequently embarking on the Latin Heroic Age which brought Latin settlers to Sarpedon and Levantia.

Although it forms an important part of identity and culture for many people in the Occident, Latinic identity is especially central to Caphirian identity and nationality. Legally, all Latinic nationals are citizens of the Imperium of Caphiria, regardless of ancestry or nation of residence (though the principle of jus sanguinis is used extensively and arguably more favourably in the Caphirian nationality law) and may be distinguished from people of Latinic descent without Caphirian citizenship and from ethnic Latins living in territories adjacent to the Latium without Caphirian citizenship. The majority of Latin nationals are native speakers of Latin, though many Latins also speak other languages native to Latium (often colloquially referred to as "Latinic dialects").
