    Names

Alternative names and their origins. Boreal War - First used by sources outside of the conflict. Not commonly used by participants until long after the wars end. War for Noborea - Most common name by the Boreal republic before the war ended. Final Republican War - Most common name used by Vithinja in the modern day.

    Background and Causes

Faneria claiming to represent all none-Caeric Noboreans. (Including Nogeath decendant and pre-caerics) Fanerian interests in island territories. Economic warfare by the Boreal Republic. Vithinjan navy sunk. Economy/Army weakened because of war. Fanerian expansionism. Need for victory to gain legitimacy.

    First Great War Connections

Reason why navy sunk. Reason for weaker economy and army. Expeditionary forces far away, unable to return fast. Connections/Alliances/Sponsors/Influence from Concordiae powers?

    The War

    Early War

Faneria winning fast on west front. Naval conflict goes Republics way despite their vulnerability. Mountain conflict is mainly small skirmishes for now. Very bloody battles in the Saelin area.

    Stalemate

Trench warfare kicks in, war slows down to a crawl. Half the year has extreme levels of mud making any offensive nearly impossible on main front. Fanerian land campaign still making slow progress. Naval battles generally avoided. Mountain assaults start, achieving very little for either side. Saelin continues to be the most bloody battle of the conflict.

    Late War

Some successful land offensives by Faneria leads to control of much of the coastline. Decisive naval battle sees Faneria victorious. Leads to naval supremacy and naval invasions of some strategic islands.

    Interference

Nations who indirectly took part in the war. Burg? Should probably be at least partially involved. Kir? May have been interested in seeing both sides weaker. Fiannria? Probably would try to help Boreal Republic win in some way. Others? Probably not, but maybe someone else from GW1.

    Results

    Armistice

Armistice signed after Fanerian troops reach Dol Awraidd. Many Boreal troops would refuse the armistice, leading to small skirmishes continuing several months after the armistice was first signed.

    Treaty

Caergwynn loses a good quarter of their territory, including it's most (an important?) industrial region in the south-west. Islands taken by Faneria to protect their coastlines. Also Vonein. Main islands and coast connecting Vithinja and Caergwynn ceased to prevent cooperation (Including the unfinished Vithin-Awraidd bridge project?) Demilitarization and continuous occupation of most of Caergwynns coastline.

    Results and Aftermath

Extreme economic and demographic damage to all participants. Vithinja least affected because of distance to war. Loss of regional naval dominance for Vithinja. They would never hold that dominance again. Change in Noborean balance of power, making Caergwynn less dominant and making the two roughly equal. End of the Vithin-Burgundien alliance that had lasted for a long time. Extensive sanctions by Burg? Other nations? Fiannria? Contribution towards Fanerian civil war, which would break out soon after the conflict ended. - This would in turn lead to the end of both occupation and demilitarization of Noborean lands, as well as the return of some ceded territories, such as Vonein and the Awraidd bridge. - Maybe some assistance provided to some rebellious factions during civil war by Vithinja/Caergwynn/Fiannria.
