The Cartadanian National Anthem (Cartadanian: Hino Nacional Cartadaniano) has a history that dates back to the early 18th century. The anthem was composed by the renowned musician and composer Ferrand Pequeni de Vilaforte in 1708, during a time of great social and political upheaval in the young nation of Cartadania, known as the Lusos Rebellion. Initially, the anthem was played without any official lyrics, and had at least two sets of unofficial lyrics that were used by the people of Cartadania. However, it wasn't until 1714 that the anthem was given its definitive, official lyrics, which were written by the talented poet and statesman Almeyque Escalante.

History

Composure of the Cartadanian National Anthem dates back to the early 18th century, a time when the nation was rapidly growing and experiencing a boom in cultural and artistic expression. It was during this time that Ferrand Pequeni de Vilaforte, a renowned composer, sought to create a patriotic melody that would become the country's official anthem. With his keen musical talent, he composed a rousing and majestic tune that quickly captured the hearts of the Cartadanian people. The melody soon became ubiquitous, frequently performed at national events and celebrations, but it remained without official lyrics.

It was not until President Caesar Marcius issued a decree in 1714 that the anthem was given its definitive and official lyrics. President Marcius believed that the anthem deserved words that matched its inspiring melody and commissioned the talented poet Almeyque Escalante to create them. Escalante, who shared a deep love for his country and a strong sense of national pride, crafted a set of lyrics that perfectly captured the essence of Cartadania. His words celebrated the nation's natural beauty, its rich history, and the strength and resilience of its people.

Since then, the Cartadanian National Anthem has become a powerful symbol of unity and patriotism for the people of Cartadania. It has been sung at countless national events and gatherings, including both times of war and peace, and has played a crucial role in shaping the country's history. It has become an integral part of Cartadanian culture, representing the hopes and dreams of a nation and the unwavering spirit of its people. The anthem has also undergone various transformations throughout Cartadania's history, from the revolutionary struggles to the modern-day victories, solidifying its place as one of the most beloved national anthems in the world.

Lyrics

Cartadanian lyrics English translation

Ouve, ó nação, a voz da liberdade
Que ecoa forte em nosso coração
Somos Cartadania, a nossa identidade

No horizonte, a nossa felicidade
De um país unido em liberdade

Hear, O nation, the voice of freedom
That echoes strongly in our hearts
We are Cartadania, our identity
Of a united people in search of unity

Of our children, the work and commitment
Are the motto, the will and the devotion
Hand in hand, we head towards the dream
Of a bright future and unity

Cartadania, cradle of equality
Of love and peace, of fraternity
On the horizon, our happiness
Of a country united in freedom
